How long does it take for a turtle shell to harden completely?
I have 1 Desert Tortise one years old. (not illegal) and its reservoir is still a little weak. has an ultraviolet light and leave it outside in the day with access to shade. I "m fears that his tank is too soft. Help? What could help feed?

Here are Some suggestions: Green: aquatic plants, cabbage, turnips, lettuce green and red leaf, romaine, dandelion, plantain chickweed, lawn, leaves, carrots, red lettuce, endive, grape leaves, grape leaves, sow thistle (avoid vegetables, spinach): good – the pumpkin, peas in the pod, okra, grated or sliced carrots, sweet potatoes well at times – green beans, yellow beans, tomatoes (avoid cabbage or broccoli), fruits: good – figs, grapes, melons, blackberries, well, occasionally – banana, strawberry, apple, citrus, flowers, blue berries Geranium (Pelargonium species), Chinese Lantern (Abutilon hybridum not Physalis sp.), the nasturtium, borage, hyssop, carnations, lilies, petunias, pansies, chives, dandelion, rose and briar fruit, meat: silkworms well — earthworms, crickets, snails, shrimp, slugs, waxworms, mealworms but at times – the dog or cat food, eggs cooked chicken or turkey, lean beef (hamburger and other fatty red meats should be avoided, and never use raw meat because of the dangers) contamination of prepared foods for turtles Reptomin Tetra, Wardley Reptile TEN, the turtle brittle, Purina AquaMax supplements: Reptile Tri-Cal or Rep-Cal calcium/D3 are the best supplements for now. A jar of Rep-Cal is quite expensive, but lasts much time. Tri-Cal, even in a hand shaker jar. Use once a week. Vitamin supplements can also be used.
